| イースター、おめでとう！ 私が子供の頃、イースターは宗教的な理由だけでなく、とても重要なものでした。 子供の頃、私たちはおいしい「チョコレートエッグ」をもらいました。 また、すべての学校はイースター休暇のため閉鎖されました。素敵な自由時間でした。 アイルランドでも休暇中には宿題はありませんでした。 しかし、年齢を重ねるにつれて、イースターの神秘についてある程度理解できるようになりました。 最も重要なことは、イエスのおかげで、私たちもやがては「永遠の命」を与えられることを発見することです。 イエスが十字架で亡くなったとき、弟子たちにとっては衝撃だったでしょう。 しかし、数日後、再びイエスに会って食事をし、話すことができたとき、彼らの悲しみは喜びに変わりました。 イエス様は私たちのために場所を用意してくださるとおっしゃいました。 私は先祖のことを思い出し、彼らも永遠の命を持って、永遠に幸せでいられるようにと祈らずにはいられません。 私たちは親戚や友人のために祈り続けるべきだと思います。 祈ることができるということは素晴らしい贈り物です。 私たちはこの賜物を無駄にせず、友人と教会のために祈り続けるべきです。 イースター、おめでとう！ HAPPY EASTER! When I was a child, Easter was very important – not just for religious reasons. As children, we received delicious ‘chocolate eggs.’ Also all schools were closed for the Easter vacation. It was a nice free time. In Ireland also, during vacation we had no homework. But, as I got older I began to understand something of the mystery of Easter. Most important is to discover that we, too, would, in time, also, because of Jesus, be given ‘eternal life.’ It must have been a shock to the disciples of Jesus, when he died on the Cross. However, a couple of days later, their sadness turned to joy, when they were able to meet, eat and talk with Jesus again. Jesus has said that he would be going to prepare a place for us. I can’t help but think of my ancestors, and pray that they too might have eternal life - to be happy forever. I think we should continue to pray for our relatives and friends. To be able to pray is a wonderful gift. We should not waste this gift but continue to pray for our friends and our Church. Happy Easter! Fr. Philip Murphy, SS.CC
